Your best bet for sustainable healthy weight loss can be summed up in six words:
eat less
eat better
move more
(thank you Henry Rollins)
It looks like you've got the first and last item nailed down. Not sure about the protein shakes though. No substitute for a balanced meal surely, and how many calories do those things have? Think about it. As far as gaining weight is concerned, keep in mind that as you excercise and weight train you will gain muscle. Just keep up the cardio, maybe up your run to 45 minutes or an hour if you have time, and over time you should start to experience weight loss. It will take time though.

No matter what you're diet plan is they all come down to one thing... You have to eat fewer calories than you burn.. Hey, how many calories in one protein shake???
So, if one protein shake fills you up and you skip a meal, but you still have the energy to work out for a hour... Sure, you'll lose weight with protein shakes.

No, ma dearie.
There is no way to lose weight other than eating healthy, excersising daily, and living a relaxed lifestyle (in other words, stay calm in stressful situations).
Really, though, eat four, small balanced meals daily. If you are only eating one, that will make you gain weight. Starving yourself is the worst thing you can possbily do for your body. The protein shakes can make you gain weight, too. They aren't good for you.
Putting on weight once you've started excercising is perfectly normal and means that you are doing a good job. Muscle weighs more than fat. Chances are, you have lost some fat and gained muscle mass to replace it. Since this new muscle weighs more than the fat it took the place of, you may gain up to ten pounds. Meanwhile, you will drop sizes. Funny, huh?
Good luck with your weight loss program. More Americans need to get out there and excersise and take care of their bodies. Here's to a new, healthy body for you!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

No...you are misusing protein shakes...also, be careful using too much of that stuff...it can cause major constipation (seriously). You have to drink lots of water too. Protein shakes are used to help build muscle, not lose weight. 5 small meals a day, plenty of water, exercise and a balanced diet will be enough.

Protein shakes are meant to decrease the amount of fact that your body has and increase the amount of muscles. Since muscle weighs more than fat, I believe that you will gain weight rather than lose weight.

3 Protein shakes? I don't think you can lose weight drinking protein...
I know they're very good for gaining streinght and muscular mass, but for loosing weight... nope... You see, they provide you with everything your body requiers... so you only gain... I think the best way is for you to go only to the gym... not use protein... :) aaand it can affect your stomach... some of them...

well because ur getting all that protein and working out, the running is good for cardio and weight loss but weight training with all that protein will build muscles faster, and muscles weigh a lot. so its probably only muscle weight ur gaining
