well if it's a first day, girls usually don't expect too much. just being a gentlemen - opening doors, saying please and thank you, good table manners, a complement here and there. if you are doing dinner, the guy should pay for it, at least for the first time. light conversation, nothing heavy (like about religion, etc.). just be a gentleman. it sounds simple, but its so hard to find men with good manners these days. she'll appreciate it.
