Or. . .to look at it another way. . ."creation" is the effect of divine destruction (things happen. . .in what looks like conflict. . .and life begins).
Our planet. . .taken at a whole though. . .is not trying to destroy itself en masse. . .but rather through "regional" ethnic agendas, misguided beliefs (often in the name of G-d!), and, sadly, reckless and often unintended harm to the first living, breathing, creation that ALL of us share in common: Earth or Gaia.

Let's limit the word "destruction" to what happens when people go to war. It's generally accepted that most (if not all) wars are caused by political or religious differences.
So if we can eliminate politics and religion from our lives, the world will be a better place.
Atheists are half-way there.
