Independant of course. The only freedom an individual has is their ability to decide for themselves. If we constantly have to protect a girl, what freedom of choice does she have?

Men value power of all things... so women with inner strength obviously will attract us more

Independent, because it's absolutely necessary for me that I be able to respect my girlfriend.

A guy looking for someone to protect is very likely a guy with a serious problem, in my opinion.

I don't want a weakling full of problems and drama. As a Psychology major I'v found that like attracts like so it depends on the guy. I want someone who can go climbing and snowboarding with me. She doesn't have to be real good just enjoy the excitment. I don't mind protecting her and if it comes down to it id even trade my life to save theirs. Often I find that guys that just want superficial sex or such encourage girls to be independent and make out with other girls go inertubing topless ect. Guys that care emotionaly often get a bit jealouse and uncomfortable in such situations if it is a girl they feel for. She has to be able to think for her self and even argue with me on occasion. I'll respect her more than if she stood in my shadow.

Independent, cause when you have to protect here she is lazy. When you protect an independent woman your that muscle that she needs.

Both. Noone wants a totally dependant non thinking woman. But too much independence makes a man feel unneeded.
