Why exactly would you want to build an amp? Oh well, to find out how amps are built, you'll need to buy an amp (not necessarily new, but working), along with a digital multimeter, and an oscilloscope.

I've got a schematic for a 70 watt mono but could be made stereo by making two of them side by side.

E-mail me and I'll send it to you.

Just be aware I'm leaving on vacation soon and won't be back until the 14th.

__________

On the contrary puresplprix,

parts are extremely cheap

resistors - $0.10 - $1.00
capacitors - $0.10 - $0.50
coils - cost of the ferrite bead and wire - $15
transistors - $0.15 - $15.00
PCB - $15.00
(prices are an approximation, and very close ones too)

You get the idea

Testing isn't needed since the layout for the board that I have is already made, all that is required is to print it and etch it, which is also easy to do.

since you would never be able to build one cheaper than buying one, I assume you are building because you are interested in how it works.
If that's the case, here's a site that has some audio amplifier kits to study/ assemble.

dont bother it will cost you 10 times as much to buy each individual part and take a long as* time to put together, then you need to test it before you put it in your car and burn them both up and i dont have a clue how much testing equip cost
