The Gibson issue stems from hurt in the soul ,so to speak of his persona. We cannot blame all the Jews for the world problems, just as we cannot blame all the germans for what happened in Hitlers time. Instead of blame, we need to deal with understanding, wars have always been with us, all the world over, in this century we must use our reason to deal with our own humanity.

Do you drink and drive?

Everyone already knows that gibson is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. The fact that he's nuts isn't news.

Behaving in a potentially homicidal manner (drinking and driving), however, is an entirely different matter. It deserves finger pointing.

Acting like a lunatic when he gets arrested for it certainly doesn't help his case, though.

Because he's a celebrity and people are willing to spend money to see make sure he's just a person like everyone else. There's a cottage industry run by paparazzi that fuel this machine... and the public buys into it by watching or reading that drivel.

When anyone - actor, actress, singer, athlete, politician - puts themselves in the public eye as part of their career and let their personal views be known via the media they become fair game in our culture. Is it right? Maybe yes, maybe no; however, when they accept that public status they know that being scrutinized by the media and the American public is part of the game. No one forces them to be who they have chosen to be.

Exactly - because he IS a celebrity. Therefore it's easier to rile up a lot of people over him than just your average Joe on the corner who nobody cares about.

If you got crazy like him, and I knew you, I'd point a finger at you.

You DO realize he's a drunken anti semite who has an irrational hatred of the British, right?

We point our fingers at others because generally it is always easier to point out anothers faults than to look at our own. Usually the most critical of people are the ones who need to look at their own selves the most.

That always happens to Christians, especially those in the spotlight. They get put on a pedestal. Christians don't claim to be perfect, if we thought we were, we wouldn't need a savior.
