I can't answer that because I don't know incy-wincy. I was good friends with itsy-bitsy and the real reason that he kept going back was so that we would have a little song to sing to the kids

The spider is an amazing metaphor of the human spirit. Just like all of us there have been days when we were climbing to new heights and then bam, we were washed off our path. But, even though these awful things happen, the sun always comes out and gives us the strength and the courage to go on and try again. Who knows, maybe the next time he made it to the top. Education and life aren't easy, but the view from the top of the water spout sure is great!

Spiders are animals and animals act on instinct and routines. That is why ants tread the same paths everyday when collecting food etc. Crawling up the spout was his routine.

Funny thing is I have actually had a kindergarten student ask why.
