A "witness" of Jehovah. Someone who has faith in, tells about, and lives according to the Will and purpose of the only true God, Jehovah.
In order to be an actual Witness, you have to do just that: witness. You can't claim to be a servant of Him unless you tell others about him and his purposes.
So we preach.
Based from the Scripture found at Isaiah 43:10-12 which says
"“You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and have faith in me, and that you may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.” “I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused it to be heard, when there was among you no strange god. So you are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God."
Jesus himself was a witness of God, because while on earth he made his father's name known and preached about his Kingdom, even telling us to pray for this:
Matthew 6:9,10
"YOU must pray, then, this way:
“‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth."
John 17:6
“I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have observed your word. They have now come to know that all the things you gave me are from you; because the sayings that you gave me I have given to them, and they have received them and have certainly come to know that I came out as your representative, and they have believed that you sent me forth."
That's what makes us Christians, too. We follow Jesus' example (what being a Christian really means) by worshipping the same God he worshipped/worships, Jehovah God.
:)
Hope that helps.

They are Christians that are - in my opinion - fanatical about "using" (actually, saying) God's name which they tell everyone is "Jehovah" although they know that is merely one of the names used to designate Him. It seems to escape them that
1. He wouldn't let the Name become extinct and then require people to "use" it in order to gain salvation
2. Jesus didn't say he made known God's name to the whole world, only to "the men you gave me OUT of the world". Besides that, "name" doesn't always mean a personal name
3. Sanctifying God's name is obviously not the same thing as "using" the name since he didn't even "use" the name in the Lord's Prayer and
4. None of the Christian Bible writers used the name in their writings even when it would have been very appropriate to do so, such as at 1 Cor. 8:6 where Paul identifies the one god as "the Father"...no JW would explain who the one god is without "using" the name Jehovah. But Paul did..
Oh, and they also have altered a couple of hundred scriptures in the New Testament of their Bible to say "Jehovah" although in EVERY Greek manuscript, the name is not used. In some places, such as at Romans 10:13 Paul is obviously speaking of Jesus, yet they have translated it "Jehovah" to fit in more closely with their doctrine.
EDITED: I forgot to say that the original Greek does contain the expression Hallelujah (Hail or Praise Jah prounounced Yah) three times in the book of Revelation. All the Greek manuscripts are in agreement and all translations that I know of translate it into English as Hallelujah or Praise Jah. It is the shortened form of YHWH.

It is a corruption of the term "Jehovah's Witness", an adherent of the religion widely associated with the divine name itself and the publication of The Watchtower, "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses".
Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind
