Well, don't know what your motivation is for joining, but I can tell you this much. Any career in the military is what you make it. Reserve, National Guard or Active Duty, more than likely, you will be sent overseas at some point or another. So many people look at the military like it's some kind of job. Well it isn't a job for most, its a way of life. We have our own language and cultural customs that many looking in from the outside do not and can not understand. The first few months of any military career are always tough as you suffer "culture shock", and adapt to the physical demands of training as you are molded into a Soldier. (Sailor/Marine/Air Force Weenie) As time progresses and you get used to the routine and jargon, you begin to develop a sense of pride that is different than any you have experienced before.

What advice can I give... well don't get bummed by whatever situation you may find yourself... There's always something new coming down the road in a year or two. Of course while serving in any military service (full-time/part time etc), take advantage of the educational opportunities as much as you can... Most military folks are getting Bachelors Degrees for free. Immerse yourself in the local community and culture around you where ever you are stationed at. And take it all one day at a time!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

go for it its the few ways to get first hand experience on this stuff and bring back the truth about whats goin on over their because every time I've talked to real solders they've told me the media's all messed up and only bring back stories that will make them money back in the states and only tellin how many people died insted of how many people were saved from Saddam's ruthless killings during his rule and i believe that we should stay over their to help Iraq during the delicate process of its new beginning of becoming a country free of terrorists and reckless extremists

that's genuine. you are able to't enlist earlier on your seventeenth birthday and ought to 20 third should be too late to get you a date to deliver to straightforward for summer vacation. many of the slots for the summer are filled earlier to that. you'll enlist yet you are able to could wait till you graduate to head to straightforward. in case you go reserves you'll visit the nearest reserve unit that has open slots on your MOS. i ought to characterize thinking both reserves and lively duty. once you be conscious a recruiter ask for more effective education on the ConAP application. It lets you get conventional with virtually any college contained in the country after enlistment. As for Airborne, it relies upon on no matter if that's accessible or not. that's virtually continuously accessible with 11X, yet different jobs received't continuously furnish it. you are able to volunteer for Airborne college each and each and every time on your occupation if you're actually not getting it properly now. i comprehend one individual who went to Airborne college that had virtually 13 years in on the time.
