Imagination. Without it we probably wouldn't even be. And have nothing if we were. It is imagination that took man out of the dawn of prehistory and has carried him to our modern times, for good or bad. Man wouldn't have had the means to survive with out the imagination to see the value of planting crops instead of hunting animals that sometimes hunted him at the same time. No wheel, no fulcrum, none of the other things that have led to the modern tools and conveniences we use. All was a result of someone's imagination, or even corporate imagination when a tribe or group worked together to solve a problem.

Imagination is valuable today for solving problems today as we envision new ways and find solutions to old problems that we haven't quite mastered; such as new ways to travel and to live without dependence on fossil fuel, a relic of the past. This will come as a result of man's imagination. "To dream the impossible dream" is more than a song from a musical about a quixotic or insane would-be knight. If he was insane, at least he had a dream that served his survival. We need more impossible dreams, more imagination, and more dreamers.

Ahhh the question of the TV generation. Well, sonny, a long time ago, when people did not have TV to replace their imaginations, we used to read books. We used to play role playing games, like cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians. We used to tell each other ghost stories over the campfire. We use to do things that required the use of our imaginations. Now, with television, we no longer have use our imaginations, for we are visually told what we should see and what we should think
