I constantly worry about things and expect the worse out of every situation or person.

For example, I swear my boyfriend is cheating on me even when I KNOW he never has or ever will. I'll overanalyze everything and make up reasons to think he's cheating on me, eventually resulting in arguments between me and him.

Another example is that I am pregnant and am obsessed with reading up on things that can go bad with pregnancy. I start to self dianose myself.

How do I just calm down and look at things half full instead of half empty?

So yeah, you're a little obsessive/compulsive or something. I would suggest eating an extremely disciplined diet high in nutrients and fiber, low in saturated fats and additives. Take a multivitamin and also calcium + magnesium + zinc. Get vigorous exercise at least once a week. Learn yoga or t'ai chi or some type of stress reduction system.

These things might help somewhat. Good luck finding a solution.

Ignore that person. It's not "go to a shrink", that's rude. It's called discuss your troubles with someone. You may be a hypocondriac, if I got that spelling right. A person with this will think they have an illness when they really don't, and may actually exhibit some symptoms. For example, you can actually fool yourself into thinking your pregnant because your hormones will react to your feelings, and you can actually get morning sickness and miss your cycle. This happened to a friend of my mom's.

Also you could just be paranoid. But it's nothing to fear. A lot of people have that.

your state may be worsened by the fact that your pregnant, a time when hormones go crazy and even your personality begins to changes. so, try to be calm and understand the changes you're going through.
besides, the fact that you realise you're overreacting in some situations shows that you're not that irrational and that there's a great possibility you'll learn to control yourself.
but if you still think your behaviour is abnormal, you may consider seeing a shrink, because you have to put the safety of your child first.

It sounds like you may have an enxiety or personality disorder. I have a lot of the same symptoms that you have and I've been diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder. Definitely talk to your doctor about how your feeling. It may just be the pregnancy, but either way they will be able to help you.

Go to a church that preaches the gospel of Christ. Ask god for help. Calm way down. I listen to "ttb.org." The ministry of J.Vernon Mc Gee. It will make you realize that life isn't all that bad, and even if things go wrong, God is there to help you, he loves you and will help you through anything. You aren't crazy you just need a foundation of love to give you security.
