Hi, I have a date with a girl. I'm not that experienced with dates, so I thought I'd just probably have a dinner and then just go for a bit of a walk or some ice cream so we can talk. But when arranging the time, the girl told me:

"ill come to hamilton, we'll grab some dinner and you figure out the rest"

so, basically the dinner was pretty much most of what I planned for the date, but she obviously expects us to do other things, and I don't want to disappoint. I need some ideas on what else to do that isn't lame.

You should never take girls out on dates unless you are seriously involved with them in a long term relationship. It sends the worst possible message. You should also never listen to women about what to do. They will completely mislead you.

What you should do is take her out on the shopping/cooking date. Come up with a nice recipe for good food. Then go to the grocery store with her to buy the ingredients. Take them back to your place and prepare them together. Don't forget to include romantic extras like candles.

This is the sort of thing that intimate people do together. She will love this. If she doesn't love this, then she is the type of woman you absolutely don't want hanging around and you should get rid of her as soon as possible.

The point of any sort of getting together is for you two to spend as much time alone together as possible. Any time you are thinking about what to do with her, whatever you come up with should meet that criteria. Again, she wants this. If she doesn't than she is not acceptable for anything, basically and you should find this out ASAP.

#1 DON'T listen to Panacea!!

If the conversation during dinner isn't that exciting then go to a movie. I like doing the walks and ice cream. Keep the date casual. You don't want her to freak out by you being extra romantic.

Play it by ear. Bowling could be really fun. Go for a drink. That's a really easy way to relax on a first date! Don't freak out. Have something planned, but ask her if that's something she'd like to do. If there's chemistry she won't care what the two of you decide to do.

Hey, I have some really romantic ideas.

First, you could take a walk in a really pretty park, while eating ice cream cones from your local ice cream store place. Perferebly not dairy queen.

You could see a movie

You could go to your place...
