God is only relevant if he/she has some influence over the universe. So if you're convinced that there's a personal God, describe what you've seen to convinced you. If you believe God caused something to happen, why God and not a natural process?

Ad hominem attacks in a philosophical discussion just cheapen the entire discourse and have no impact on the validity of the question. Kindly direct your attention to the question at hand and avoid insults to me or the other respondents.

JW: I was at a training in hypnosis once, and during the 4-day event, I developed a tooth ache. Hypnosis sometimes helps with pain control, so I asked one of the trainers to put me in a trance to help me with the pain. He did so, and the pain went away immediately. I even tested it out by eating ice cream. (It had been wickedly cold sensitive.) I had expected to need to visit a dentist, but it proved unnecessary.
I do not attribute that to God, but instead to some internal neural/mental process. And because I had the training, I've been able to do the same for others.

Once again, the discussion centers around proof. But what proof can there be? Any incident brought up as an example will always result in someone saying "coincidence", or offering some alternative to divine intervention.
The medical world knows of those who have been diganosed with cancer whose cancers disappear without treatment. This happens in a tiny percentage of cases; but, still, those who choose not to accept divine intervention will come up with a bewildering array of other suggestions.
Those who believe in God and have had statistically impossible experiences believe in miracles. Those who do not believe in God and have had similar experiences will develop a thousand rationales to avoid thinking that there might be a God.
An atheist would not accept God if God himself appeared and took the atheist on a tour of heaven. Instead, there would be Doctor visits and psychonalysis and medication.
So it comes down to the same old story. The faithful need no evidence of divine intervention; and non-believers will accept none

I have witnessed space and time altered after asking God to intervene in a heart rending situation. That is as far as I will take it because you have a problem. You literally have no ability to believe a miracle should it happen right in front of your eyes. You think seeing is believing, but you are very much mistaken. If the heart is hardened, though the miracle happen in front of the physical eyes, the hardened heart cannot perceive it. So how much harder is it for you, if you hear about a miracle, and don't even see it? Do you see the problem?

There have been countless cases of medical miracles in which tumors inexplicably disappeared. There are even a few events in which people have been resurrected from the dead.
The problem is, people want so badly to discredit God that they deny the facts. They claim "It must have been misdiagnosed to begin with," or "He was never really dead."
The point is that no matter what evidence is offered, people will simply deny the truth of it. They WON'T believe it, even with the evidence right in front of their eyes.
Remember, despite the evidence, even O.J. was acquitted!

That's where "faith" intervenes my friend. Sure I've had some weird "coincidences" in my life. The fact that I prayed for those coincidences to happen only goes to strengthen my faith. By the way, I'm not christian or from any other religion relying on the Bible and scripture. I consider myself Buddhist and pray to my own personal beliefs of a higher, ultimately enlightened deity/power. Since miracles occur in "every" religion, it either stands to reason that there is a higher power at work, or our faith is strong enough to accomplish the impossible. In either case, your own personal belief in that force at work is going to empower your own personal experiences.

I'd suffered with moderate to severe pain in my right knee for years. l learned to live with it. Then one day after our church service ( I was in the position of interum pastor ) l asked the congregation ( of about 20 members ) if they would pray for my knee. I sat in a chair while the members laid hands on me & prayed for me for 2 to 3 minutes. I expected that the pain would go away in a few days....but when l got up from the chair, all the pain was gone...and stayed gone...
l received those prayers for healing back in the late 1990's and have enjoyed being pain-free in my knee since then..

You have just opened the door for the bullshit outdated superstitious bible bangers, to rant and rave about god causing everything, I believe in natural process, i have never seen god, or heard god, nor have i ever seen anything in this world that cannot be explained by science, or natural process. One of the days the monkeys who pray to god to win the lottery, find a date, succeed in life in general. etc............ will die off and stop holding back the rest of the human race so we can get on with our natural process of evolution.

I personally know 2 men Cured of MS! There is NO Medical Cure for MS at this time. The medical treatment received by both men was just to hinder the physical effects for as long as possible. Today, neither one of them has a trase of MS in their bodies, both men attribute their cure to GOD, even their Doctors do! It was their Faith in GOD! As both men were terminal. There is no know "Natural Process" as you put it that will Cure MS, and No Known Medical Cure!

Sure, lots.
Sunrises, the birth of a baby, flowers, kittens, the ocean, music, thunderstorms, trees.
The gods are the natural order of the universe. That is their purpose, that is their meaning. Look at the beauty of the world and you look into the face of god.

It is true that God looks like us because, according to the Bible, it says "God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them," Genesis 1:27. Our usualy things happening in our life are not what God has taken action, but they are just our actions. Only if you seek and pray for God, miracles can happen, but if you truely turn your eye onto God. If you follow God, he will show you the right path to go to his kingdom--- the heaven. I think that we are all sinners although Jesus Christ died for us. We keep sinning again.
Bible says "He who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgement, but has passed out of death of life," John 5:24.
God can cause something to happen too because not everything is possible for human to do. Very easy example; when my cousin was young, her whole family didn't believe in God, except herself. So, she kept praying and fasting for several years for her family. And finally, as they heard God's voice, they started to come to church and became faithful family. So, that is definitely not a natural process. In addition, the Bible mentioned that Jesus healed those who could not be cured by their technology. So, this kind of happening is not a natural process.
I hope that you believe in God.
