Isn't that like saying Judaism is the correct religion?

Because they were God's ORIGINAL chosen people.

Read Romans 9-11. Through Christ, God's covenant with Abraham extended to all the Gentiles who chose to follow Christ, but the old covenant was added upon and made superior with by a new covenant (Hebrews 8:6, "But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.").

Therefore, Christians are not just "God's people;" they have become reconciled with God and are now sons and daughters of God (Galatians 3:26, "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.") Are not sons and daughters loved more by a father than people favored by Him?

Sadly enough, Christians do not realize the great covenant that they have been adopted into. They do not tap into the promises that God has given them. When they see a Jews becoming successful, they always say, "Well that is just because they are God's chosen people." Come on Christians! Wake up! Do you not know that you are apart of a better covenant (Hebrews 7:22)?

There is no reason for Christians to be calling Jews "God's people," without also referring to themselves as "God's more favored people." Now yes, Israel is still "God's people," and the Bible made references to them as such, but that was in the old covenant. Jews still operate in the old covenant. Christians have a new covenant which even includes the promises of the old one.

Christians are children of God and are much more God's people than Israel.

According to the Old Testament, the Jews were God's chosen people. That changed when God sent Jesus as the messiah, supposedly. So, the Jews are no longer God's chosen people. The Christians are. At least according to the New Testament, which, of course, the Jews don't recognize. A lot of Christians still think of the Jews as God's chosen, even though if Jesus was the messiah that can no longer be true. I know. Very little about religion actually makes sense

Christianity grew out of Judaism. The Bible presents the Jews as God's chosen people, and in the New Testament it seems to say that they are still a part of God's plan. But I don't see how if they reject Jesus.

God specifically calls Israel's people His people in the Bible, and it isn't saynig Judaism is the correct religion. It just says they are His people, and there is proof. God's hand is upon Israel and that is why they are powerful and cannot be beaten in a war...Unless the peopl turn their backs on God again, and then His hand will be lifted and Israel will be left to defend themselves.

Israel are God's chosen people, and they are bound by old testament law, so Judaism is the correct religion for them. Christianity is meant for the Gentiles, or non-Jews, so they can be saved as well.

It is correct to say that the Jews were Gods chosen people, but then He sent his son Christ Jesus to teach them and to ultimately die for all of mankind. Jesus bridged the gap between "God's chosen" and the rest of humanity. The jews were/are waiting for the messiah but choose not to recognize Jesus as such. Those that now follow Christ are in the Truth. Unfortunately, some people (then and now) refuse to believe that Jesus was (is) the messiah therefore judaism is not the "correct religion".

This is merely a summary of a very long topic.

Well, as a Muslim, Muslims call The Jews Beni Israel "Children of Israel and also God's people. We call this because Before Jesus (Peace and Blessings upon him) the messengers and messiahs mentioned in the bible were specifically for the Children of Israel such as Jacob, Isaac, Solomon, etc. Well, I don't want to go to into Christianity and my religion, Islam but they are called God's people also because God chose Isaac Son of Abraham The father of the Jews because in Christian belief, he was to be sacrificed because he was tested by God. In Islamic belief, Isaac had many messiahs sent to his children up until Jesus (PBUH). However, Muslims believe that Ishmael (PBUH) was to be sacrifice for God favour. Also, God told to Ishmael that out of his offsprings is the last prophet, Muhammad (PBUH) the final messenger for the Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, a.k.a the world.

Jews are the chosen people of God. He says so Himself in His word, the bible. That is why Jesus came. He stated so, He said He came "to the lost sheep of Israel". After (most) Jews rejected Jesus, the gospel was then given to the gentiles. There are some Jewish people who believe that Jesus is their Messiah. How fortunate they are! They are called Messianic Jews.

Jesus Christ is the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. Not believing this, the bible tells us that, for awhile, the Jews will be blinded. That is why so many do not believe. However, God will deal with them again one day. However, without faith in Jesus Christ no one, Jew or Gentile, will be saved.

In the Old Testament, Jews were called the Chosen People because they were given the Ten Commandments. Remember that Jesus was born a Jew, followed all of the laws of the Jewish religion, and the last supper was a Passover Seder. He was buried according to Jewish law also. So you figure it out.

Because in the Bible God called the Israelites "his people." Not sure about the modern day, but he did a few thousand years ago. That is, if you believe in the Bible.

I think that's a pretty clear answer to your question. That's why. It came from the Bible.
