Have the child pull up pants if necessary and get the child involved in another activity.

Perfectly natural at any age. If a teenager, I would close the door without comment (except maybe "Sorry!) and later just mention that they should lock the door (say as little as possible as I'm sure they are horribly embarrassed, and I wouldn't want to make them feel worse about something completely harmless). If a younger child, just explain to them about private parts and that touching oneself is Ok but to be done in private not public.

Also, if a teenager, I would be glad for my child to be relieving their sexual feelings through masturbation than by actually having sex with its risks of pregnancy, disease or just general emotional trauma when you're so young. Also, masturbation is a great way to explore your own sexuality, especially for girls (again, better they do it alone at that age!)

Just tell the child to always make sure they are in the restroom or their own room if they have one. Just let it go. Children like to explore and touch things and that includes themselves. It's perfectly normal on an occasional basis. Now, if they are preoccupied with only that act, get them busy doing something else and keep them busy.

Absolutely nothing. All boys between 13-50 masturbate on a regular basis. It´s completely normal. Don´t tell anything to him because he is gonna feel strange. Just tell him to lock the door.

Well, I guess it depends on your values, but masturbation is something that almost all kids do at some point, so i would just close the door and act like i never saw.

Well, I don't know how old your child is, but self exploration is a very normal part of growing up. I did find out my son was doing it as an adolescent. We just sat down and talked about his feelings and what he was going through. We had our firs talk about that awful 3 letter word.

It was all fine. He is fine. And I got over it.

Close the door. Tell him that what he was doing was a perfectly natural thing for human beings to do, as long as he does it in the privacy of his own room/bathroom wherever. DONT make him feel like what he was doing was wrong, because that can seriously traumatize him for life. I saw it on a video once.

Just close the door and leave them to it. There is nothing wrong with this, they will be exploring their bodies. Everyone does this at some point in their lives. It's perfectly natural.

This is totally normal. 95% of all males do it, and to try to repress this at this time will cause other issues later.

He's going to be very embarrassed, so just tell him it's OK then ignore it.
