I took this kid's self-esteem and put it in my back pocket. He tried to "step to me" (to use his ghetto vernacular) as if he were educated (or even just bright and witty), and I positively sent him back to the 1850s in two short paragraphs. Should should I feel guilty for humiliating him? Frankly, I'd like to put him to work--in my yard.

Sorry for the stutter. I was imitating this kid by chomping down on a chicken bone while I was typing.

Look at kitcat's response. The proper expression is: I "couldn't care less"--not "could care less." If you "could care less," that means that you could care less than you do and, therefore, you obviously care more than you'd like to care. Why do they even let people like this roam the earth?

I do feel sorry for this kid. You have to give him credit for trying to respond. You will notice that his writing deteriorates with each sentence of his response--malaprops, incomplete sentences, and the list goes on.
Anyhow, I think you people are correct. I'm going to apologize to this little fella and give him back his self-esteem. I'm no monster. I hate when people are cruel to defenseless, little animals.
