Wow, maybe they thought you were illegal and couldn't ask because of government guidelines...after all we are becoming oh so politically correct.
When I went to the ER after a serious car wreck, they wanted my drivers license, insurance information, my husband's drivers license and THEN they gave me pain medication.....
The bill was almost $8,000.00....that included the ambulance...we paid every penny...
Perhaps that is why we are so angry...we feel an obligation to pay our bills and the illegals are very comfortable with the free ride. And when my 4 hour stay in the hospital cost so much, I know it's because I am making up for all the ones who don't pay.

All hospitals ask for identification. How else are they going to keep records of who they treated and what they treated the patient for. All hospitals ask for insurance information, credit card or a commitment to pay the bill. While it is true that a person cannot be refused treatment at a hospital emergency room, the hospital is still going to make up and send you a bill.

Last time I went, they asked for ID, and an insurance card. They did not ask for proof of citizenship, but I don't see why they should, since I had insurance. They aren't INS, they're just a bunch of idiots who took eight months to bill the right company, despite five letters and several phone calls made to straighten them out.

Even if someone is asked for an ID or some form of identification and aren't legal, usually a hospital will not deny medical attn.

I took my daughter to the ER recently and they did ask for an ID and my S.S number. But, no they do not ask for status if it is an emergency. However, private doctors and clinics can ask for ID's, Social Security, green card, etc. My gyno asks for them.

I'm asked for insurance cards. I'm asked for ID, I'm asked for practically my life history and to donate any parts of my body 'left over' after any particular procedure.
I never tried saying 'no I don't have those' though. After all, they were the ones holding the knives.

You bet, they ask for IDs. One hospital I know of even made one legal person mad because they accused him of being illegal, but he was not. But at least he pays for his health care and is worth keeping. So slowly but surely IDs verifiable are being required before treatment is given.

Well pancha, you just proved the point that my buddies and I on here have been trying to get across. Illegals get free medical in our hospitals. Thank you very much.

We REALLY GOTTA change that one. Maybe if Illegals were say DENIED they'd stay Home and have there Anchor babies in Mexico on there TAB rather than on Ours. Maybe they didn't ask cause they allready knew they weren't gonna get paid.
