that your real father was still alive?

It would probably take me awhile to soak everything in. Eventually, I'd want to know why this information was kept from me. After that, curiosity might move me to seek out my biological father.

I suppose it would also depend upon the memories I had of the man who raised me. For example, if he wasn't a great father figure, I might be more insistent upon meeting my biological father and see if he'd want the chance to know me.

On the other hand, if that man had done his best to be a good father, I might not feel the need to know this other man who is my biological father.

I'd also want to know if the man who raised me knew he wasn't my biological father.

I guess I'd just feel deprived of a part of my history.

Betrayed by the lie but wouldn't give more thought than it deserved. Your father died, the one that raised you and was there for you, that's what counts. If you feel a need to meet this man by all means do, you will not be betraying your father's memory by doing so and you might even find a friend.

Well, sad because you love this man as a father and confuse about finding out that your biological father who you never knew existed is alive. Confuse and hurt that is what I would feel. That is why it is never a good idea to keep family secrets like that one because it can lead to confusion. Good luck.

I'd still be sad that my father died and be pissed off at the man who is my real father and find him to see why he abandoned me in the first place.

I think the man who raised me would be my Dad so I would be sad but I would give my birth Father a chance to get to know me.
