They're tempremental little beggers sometimes. Mine do that alternately. I tend to ignore the fact that they're ignoring me for a day or so, just do the basic, food, litter looking after without additional attention. then on the second day when you come home, be delighted to see him, give him some ham or tuna and make a big fuss for a good half hour. Then just get on with what ever you wnat to do. He'll most likely follow you about after love. Give him lots of petting when he asks. You have to think of him as a stropy teenager.
Bear in mind, a change in your cats personallity can sometimes be symptomatic him feeling unwell. I'm sure he's just moody but its worth thinking about.

Get a piece of string, and play with the cat. Most cats love to play with string.

fresh food and water, new bed and don't force it...don't stalk the cat
since it got unbearable hot this week...our cat has become more reclusive
