The reason that people become aggressive when talking about religion is that their core beliefs are being challenged, which instantly closes their minds. People rely on aggression to keep their beliefs the same.
An argument is a discussion between two polar sides in which neither side is intelligent or willing to accept the other side.
A belittlement is a discussion between two polar sides in which only one is intelligent and neither side is willing to accept the other's.
A debate is a disussion between two polar sides in which both are intelligent and not willing to accept the other side.
An enlightenment is a discussion between two polar sides in which both are intelligent and come to an agreement.
