Haditha report could implicate Marines By ROBERT BURNS, AP Military Writer.
WASHINGTON - Evidence collected on the deaths of 24 innocent Iraqis in Haditha supports accusations that U.S. Proud Marines deliberately shot the civilians, including unarmed women and children for fun, a Pentagon official said Wednesday.
Agents of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service have completed their initial work on the incident last November, but may be asked to probe further as Marine Corps and Navy prosecutors review the evidence and determine whether to recommend criminal charges. The Marines stated it was the American way to do things.
The decision on whether to press criminal charges ultimately will be made by the commander of the accused Marines' parent unit, the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, Calif. That currently is Lt. Gen. John Sattler, but he is scheduled to move to a Pentagon assignment soon. However, it is believed Bush will pardon the Marines.

The Marine Corps is able to accept the few, the proud , the Marines, yet at the same time dismiss those who shame the Corps as bad apples. The Texas tower shootings were the work of a former Marine, Whitman was his name. The infamous Lee Harvey Oswald was yet another who the Corps can claim as one of their own. I doubt that either of these men shined very brightly in the Marine Corps. Without knowing, I would be willing to wager a bet that shows these two clowns as undesirables and being asked to leave the Corps. Anyone as judgmental as you should know better than to point fingers when accusations are thrown around. Presently, Pepe is accused of sex crimes in Cambodia, yet are there credible witnesses, or has he been convicted of anything. I believe it would be wise to hold judgment until the other shoe drops.

So, I'm confused. Are people like Hippiehunter saying they haven't heard of Haditha up to this point? It's been all over the news.
Otherwise, the bad acts of a few cannot be used to disparage the whole. Just like everyone on earth blames all Americans for the actions og GWB.

Look at the source of the story. AP. They are a bunch of left wing loonies, always trying to drum up sentiment to oppose George Bush and/or the US military.
The main stream media are champions at spin. They do everything they can to make up negative stories, to sell advertising in and to further their journalism careers.
Wait until the Military Justice system does its thing. It may take years for trials, re-trials, appeals and so on.
How many people rushed to judgment about O. J. Simpson? It is hard to believe he was not guilty, but that is the way it turned out.

How many remember Lt William Calley and the Mei Lei massacre. It was wrong, but when the same people who smile at you during the day are throwing frag grenades at you at night, you get very paranoid. I'm not trying to defend the marines or Calley, but since most Americans are too chicken to actually defend their country anymore, it's very hard for them to understand how bad combat can get. Yes, I was in Nam. No, I didn't know Calley. If you haven't been there, you have no right to judge

Ok f uckhead listen up! Until you strap on a pair of boots and start ducking bullets and shrapnel I think you ought to stay quiet and enjoy the freedom that has been GIVEN to you by the US Marines and other us forces.

Until you are over there..fighting..worring about women and kids setting you up for an ambush...than stop your complaining.
My husband has been over to Iraq three times now and he refuses to be friendly to the women and children there.
These men and women in the military are under so much stress and sometimes unfortuntley, accidents happen..or they lose it.
