I have a year and a half old pit bull.

They are kind of like doggy heat rash. There is a bottle of liquid called hot spot treatment at most any walmart you can try. My grandma's dog gets those summer and winter and that seems to help. I hope it helps your pooch too!!

A hot spot is a raised, scaly rash, very itchy to the dog, usually near the base of tail or on back, but they can be anywhere. First you need to carefully shave the area, clean the hot spot with warm mild soapy water, then put anti biotic ointment or spray. If they are really bad, the vet can give something stronger.

my dog had one and my dog that died had one to and the hotspot is a allergic reaction to fleas and u can get rid of it by bathing ur dog and putting an antibiotic like neosporin or the equate at walmart

My dogs have never had any hotspots but I believe its caused by allergies or other health conditions that your vet needs to diagnose for proper treatment.
