I look like something out of a horror movie in the morning also. What I have found to work extremely well for my hair is the Remington "TStudio" Tourmaline-Ceramic Flat Iron.
This ceramic flat iron is made from 100% crushed Tourmaline mineral imported from Japan. A precious stone, Tourmaline is the world’s finest ionic and infrared generator. Ionic and infrared combine to give you the best possible results from a ceramic iron. The Tourmaline iron gives you superb styling and straightening and the healthiest hair possible.
I still use shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner geared toward frizzy/curly hair along with using this iron.
This is the only product that has worked for me especially when it is humid outside and the frizzies start.
I bought mine at Ulta for $39.00

Get a flat iron and Bed Head Control Freak (green bottle, it's AWESOME). Straighten your hair first, spray the Control Freak on your hands and spread it through your hair and straighten it again.

There is this curling iron that is used by professional stylist it is called the "CHI" pronounced chee straighting iron...I am biracial and my hair is super curly!!! I used it once and my hair was bone straight...you can get the iron from places like Beauty First or Ulta...check at your local Sally Beauty supply store and ask them where you can get it.

I'm a guy. And trust me: YOU LOOK BETTER, THE WAY YOU ARE.
One thing I promise you, is that 40 years from now, you will look back at old pictures of yourself, and realize, in a way you can't grasp now, how much potential lay before you, and how fabulous you really looked...
