My aunt sells quality puppies over the internet and is totally legit. She doesn't run a puppy mill or anything either. She just has a few pets and lets them breed. Your first step is to get in contact with the seller. Make sure you get a phone number and actually TALK to the person selling the pup. Ask LOTS of questions. A reputable breeder will be able to answer any questions you have and will be HONEST and tell you if they don't know something you want to know. They should be able to provide you with multiple pictures of the pup upon request too. A reputable breeder will send you copies of shot records and vet visits too--even before you buy the pup. Lastly and what's key here someone who is not just in it for the money and actually has a healthy well bred pup will ask YOU lots of questions about yourself, home and family life so they know that their pup will be in a safe loving enviroment. Most sites will post for anyone who registers, it's up to you to decide if the breeder is someone you trust. Most will be willing to meet you face to face if you live close enough together too. It's just like any internet endevor. I myself have a st. bernard/black lab pup from the internet and he;s just great. Good Luck.

Never ever ever get a dog over the internet. That is probably the worst thing you could do. You should get a puppy from a breeder (not a puppy mill or pet store) so that you can see the parents and see all the puppies, not just have a random dog shipped to you. When you go to a breeder, you don't pick the puppy, the puppy picks you! If you get the dog over the internet, you may end up with a aggressive dog, a timid dog, a dog who hates children, etc etc. Please take my advice, try not to get a doggie over the internet!

I tried to buy a puppy over the net, but when I checked on the address the breeder give me it did not exist, take her to a shelter or a pet store and let her choose or take the address of the breeder and check on it same times it’s a scam and other it’s a puppy mill you could pay 3 times on a vet bill. Also make sure the puppies did not come from Mexico because same of them are sick from in breeding.

I wouldn't buy an animal over the internet, especially a dog. There are lots of "really cute puppies" in the shelters and rescue groups in your home town, so you can actually see the animal before you take it home, interact with it to make sure that it has a personality that you like as well as the looks, and you can be sure that the dog you're going home with is the one you talked about in the first place.

Plus, you don't put the puppy through the trauma of shipping at such a young age.

I would never buy an animal over the net, it could be a scam and you will be out the money you pay for nothing. Find out what breed it is and do a google search for a local breeder or rescue. I would never buy a puppy unless I could see it in person and see what kind of environment it is being raised in.

You don't
Warning signs:
Multiple breeds
Lots of litters
Puppies always available
Take credit cards or PayPal
You can just buy a puppy without being checked over by the breeder (good breeders care where their puppies go and don't sell to just anyone)
Don't show their dogs (I know you just want a pet, but responsible breeders show their dogs to prove that they are quality animals)
You are better off to find a breeder that you can visit in person and check them out.
This page has lots of excellent articles on getting a dog.

Ask for references and cantact the referrences..
Beware of the scheme that they sell a pup too cheap, and then ask for more shipping money, after you have made a deal..many scams like that..do phone call and talk to the peoplel..get a 'feel' for them..I'm betting that here are many pups just as cute in or near your home, where you could drive over to check them out..
Alsways safe with pups from www.petfinder.com all breeds, in every state...and they are a real bargain!
Just put in your own zip code here, and happy shopping! > http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi
