My dad spent time in the hospital recently (3weeks) and at first his new wife and I got along fine.My dad and I are very close, and I've always taken care of him when he is sick. He's been battling this problem for 8 years. We got along fine till she started saying things like, it's HER job to take care of him now, and telling me what I'm going to do at the hospital. They have only been married for a year, and I don't like people telling me what to do when it comes to my family. Her family was there, and they were being very snotty. I do understand that they are married now and that does constitute at least some respect for her, but what do I do going forward? Her daughter is my age and she flipped out on me, yelled at me, then hung up on me. She talked bad about my dad to me, then was all sweet and nice to his face. I am not going to let them come in between me and my dad. What do I do?

What you don't get is this is wife #5 for him.
My siblings and I are a little gunshy when it comes to his wives hanging around.

I am over 25, married for 9 years. Next to my husband, my dad has been one of my best friends. We talk about everything, and tell each other almost everything.

How old are you??
Over 18 -- pull back and wait till he is better, then talk to him.
Under 18 -- unless you have another adult to live with, just be as polite as you can and keep talking to your siblings. Then when he is better, talk to him.
Either way - don't talk to him now, he has enough to deal with just being in the hospital.
If he stands by his new wife - there is your answer, no matter what.

Holy crap your a baby. Let your dad and his wife have some freaking room. You obviously have children of your own. Try spending more time with them and less time with your dad.

You have to realize that females are a more territorial creature than males. Kill them with kindness and invite them to go with your father and you when next you go out shooting at the range.

Even though she marrie to your dad if she talk to you a little dis repect than you should talk to her and Y should U respect her if she is not ! and her daughter this is not CINDERELLA u need to fight back just like I said Y should U repect her if ....... !
