When a guy beats his wife, why does the woman go back to him or stay with him? It's driving me crazy! No offence, but it's stupid! The guy might "accidently" beat her to much, and if they have a kid then why does she keep him in danger?
I understand, that not EVERY woman let's this happen, but there are still a lot that does, and i don't understand what's going through their heads, why would they let this happen to their kid, and why would they let this happen to themselves?

What you don't really understand is that being beaten doesn't happen to women with a positive self image and close ties to friends and family. It usually happens when a woman (or man)'s self esteem either didn't exist, or has been eroded, by the abuser. If you're told often enough that you're no good, no one wants you, and you're kept without funds and isolated, it's really easy to develop a POW mentality..."if this is where the food is and the shelter and I can't escape...why bother?"

I know it sounds bizarre, but unless you've walked that path...you can't imagine how "easily" it can happen.

The doctors call it co-dependency. Apparently the abuse isn't just physical; it's mental and emotional too. These guys that abuse their wives make them feel totally worthless and obliterate their self-esteem. As a result, these women actually think they "deserve" the abuse and they're conditioned to believe that no one else in the world would care for them or love them, so they have nowhere to go. Sure, a lot of women end up in battered women's shelters, but it takes a long time to undo that "bad" programming the women have, and the counselors at the shelters can't fix it in a matter of a couple of days, which is usually how long it takes for the woman to go back to the abusive husband. It's a vicious cycle. You'd think that people would be smarter than that, but when you're told that your stupid and worthless every day for years, you start to believe it...

I used to think the same way you did until I found myself in an abusive relationship. It starts off slow and the woman doesn't even realize it's happening until it starts getting physical. By that time the woman's self esteem is in the toilet and the fear of repercussion is almost paralyzing. Luckily, I got out before it got too bad and there were no children. Some women aren't that lucky.

Their scared and feel if they do something back to defend themselves then there just going to get beaten up even more. Some girls are already traumatized and they do not want to leave their man because they love them or they are like brain washed. Some men really hurt their girls and kids physically or mentally. They either tell them that there going to kill them if they leave or tell someone. That is one reason why some women go back to those abusive pigs. I understand that you hate this and I also hate this allot and I wish everyone had respect to one another. Well Ciao~
I hope this answered your question and all.

Most women are scared. They are scared to run because they all know what would happen if they were found. If only we lived in a perfect world where violence does not exsist!
