Because were such an ethical society.
We impose our right to live on other animals causing all kinds of effects including extinction but when someone born all F@#$% up with an incurable disease or other disorder our goverment says that they have to live. And why can't someone dying and in great pain asked to be put out of there misery? I have no prejedice towards mild disorders like an extra chromosome or mild deformity. Point is the family should have more of a say in some instances.
