I need to leave my bf because he is emotionally abusive, constantly belittling me and once last year he hit me. I know I should go. Should I leave now while he's at work or wait until he's home?

If you are scared of future violent behavior leave while he is at work. If you think he can handle it rationally it would be better to leave while he is home. The most important thing is to ensure your own safety. The most dangerous time in an abusive relationship is when you try to end it.

You should leave while he's at work. Call him from your parents or wherever your at, and tell him that you've left him, it's over, and that's it. But you should call him, to let him know you're not hurt or anything. He can't be a good person, but you can be on that level. And after that phone call, it should be done forever.

If you want to avoid a fight, leave now. If you enjoy the drama....wait till he gets home.
