On my kids, I used my hand, and fly swatter.
Our parents used switch, hand, belt, and fly swatter.
Their parents used hand, belt, bailing wire, leather strap and anything else that they could get in their hands.
Boy how times change from generation to generation. And you can tell it for the way kids are acting from generation to generation too. On the same note, I'm not saying that you have to beat your kids to make them mind either. But they do need to learn how to mind and have good manners, and most important have RESPECT for others!!!!!!!!!!

feather duster (duster made with chicken feathers and a thick hooked cane holder)
and a real cane. just a simple stick with a little plastic hook at 1 end. about 1 meter long. maybe less.
i got caned on the backs of my legs so bad sometimes it hurt to bend them.
i was belligerent and i blame no one. even i chuckle when i think back to those times

now days you shouldnt have to use anything but maybe your hand.
not what our parents used on us.
use time out chairs and corners.
it was a different time when we were growing up and dont use what people are saying here, their parents didnt have the resources like we do now days.

My dad always used his belt. If I was smart I would have thrown that damn thing away when he was sleeping.
