I used to live in a russian jewish neighborhood, and all the sheets that were hung out on the lines to dry, had a hole cut into them, why is that?

I'm Jewish and partly of Russian descent and I am baffled. Maybe there was a vandal who came by and cut people's clothes and sheets. They could be talit, but those aren't supposed to have holes in them.

I don't have a clue in the world.

It was ironic that Peace came with a message of hatred. I reported him/her and I would like to request that everyone who reads this does the same. This website has no place for links to white supremacy websites.

It was probably for "tzitzit" (numbers 15). A common form of them are worn over one's body, similar to a t-shirt.

I have no idea.
I'm Jewish, partly of Russian descent too, and I don't know what you mean either.

Maybe what you saw was a "Tallit": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallit
