I have a kitten goes in my room and knead and sucks on my spare blanket in my room? After she is done she leaves a wet spot on my blanket. Why do cats do that? It is weird. And purs to.

She is remembering nursing. Nursing kittens knead on the momcats breast. It seems to make the milk flow better. So she is remembering one of the secure times of her life.
It's sort of a complement. She feels secure in your room. She may grow out of it. Or she may do it til she's in her 9th life.
that's cats.

sslpatt (above) said exactly what our vet said. It is a comforting rememberance of nursing. My 7 year old cat will still knead on me if I am covered over with a certain blanket. THey are very happy when they are doing this. It's cute.

My female cat does the same thing. I've always attributed it to the fact that she was taken from her mother too soon and is using the blanket as a substitute. I've just gotten used to it and this isn't a spare blanket!!!!!

Your cat is doing the equivilent to a kid sucking their thumb. You cat feels safe and comfy in your blanket, which is a good thing. Purring is always a good thing...

Kittens do the sucking thing on blankets because they are teething, the kneeding thing is a reflex action to sharpen and trim their claws.

kittens aren't exactly the "sharpest tool in the shed", but they do this because that is how they nurse from their mother. i had a kitten a few years ago that did the same thing to my shirt. buy her some kitten formula and put it in a bottle and give it to her; hopefully she should stop her little habit soon.

when they knead, they are loosening and excersizing their joints. like when humans crack their nuckles.

as for the sucking on the blanket, thats because because shes teething.

well, i have a cat and she does that too. they do that because the blanket is soft and she or he feels safe and protected. my cat doesn't know her mother so she thinks my blanket is her mother.

My 8 year old cat does that on my arm. My vet says she's in her "happy place" when she does that.
