I am traveling to Austrailia from L.A. I am allergic to bug spray. Before the take off do the spray the plane while your on there for bugs because you are traveling on an international flight?

No, they don't spray for bugs. The only chemicals sprayed on a plane are the usually cleaning agents to wash the plane/windows or a de-icing solution when ice accumulates on the fuselage or wings.

I have flown Quantas and United to and from Australia and New Zealand. I do know that some airlines do; I am not sure which ones and why. L.I.A.T does this, because I took a flight last week and remember vividly. Just call the airline and ask them. If it is an international requirement, you might have time to allergy pills. Call the airline or your travel agent.

The only time I've seen it done has been on flights from the Carribean, Mexico and South America into the US.

I have flown to Australia on Quantas several times (as recently as this year) and there was NO spraying.

If you want to make absolutely sure, call your airline.

They use to, but got in trouble with this. Now I do not believe they spray the plain with passengers on board. Contact the airline for details.

I would check with the airline company about any spraying and let them know why your so concerned

Personally I have not heard of them doing this. You should call ahead and check it out.
