I'd have to agree with Arabia Guy...people think SA is a big sandbox but I assure you, it's not. There is beauty, culture, religion and heritage all rolled into one. Depending on which part of the country you go to, you can see mountains, lush vegetation and yes, lots of sand but even the sand is beautiful.
I recently took a road trip from Jeddah to Madain Saleh (the Nabatean Tombs) in the north and it was the most beautiful experience I've ever had. The desert sky at nigh is breath-taking. I never saw so many stars. The landscape made us speechless. And let me tell you, sand can be fun too. We actually stopped on the way and climbed up a sand dune. It was really nice.
Anyways, the point is, we're a blend of east and west. We may have veiled women, mosques and lots of sand but we also have hospitality, shopping malls and Starbucks (yum!!).
Come and check it out sometime.

I'm a Saudi Arabian women i can tell u about Saudi Arabia it a very big city with allot of toures most of people think that Saudi Arabia is desert with allot of sand and rocks no it is not , hey people wake up be realistic we are in successful generation how could a huge & ritch city be like that. I wish i give u a good picture fore Saudi Arabia

Much of it is very beige, a nice way of saying sand- colored. In Riyadh even the villas are mainly beige. Jeddah has more color. The roads are filled with crazy drivers, including old white pick-up trucks filled with sheep or camels (although these vehicles are less and less common). Modern architecture looms over remnants of old and crumbling squat buildings. In the mountains, the greenery is surprisingly lush.
