I would like to be a vegetarian for personal, philosophical reasons, however, I pretty much hate vegetables. Aside from just getting over it, how can I ease into a veggie eatin' kind of diet?

well, you can eat beans.... but then you'd die if that's all you ate... so, you'll have to suck it up and find out stuff that will get you all the vitamins and minerals you need (green leafy ones are the best). People say it takes 11 tries before a person STARTS to like something, so my advise, try your veggies each 11 times. Are you planing on giving up eggs and milk too (ovolactovegetarian)? FYI fruit won't get you what you need.

The best way to ease yourself into vegetables is to start by replacing items on your diet with vegetables and cutting down on your consumption of animal products. No need to rush into it, give everything a try and you would be surprised of how many vegetables and fruits you might actually like. Stores like Bread & Circus or Whole Foods, they have a variety of freshly prepared foods as well as vegetarian frozen meals. Take your time and give it a try, you might just surprised yourself.

Wow, sounds like you're in a tough situation. Pretty much a vegetarian has to deal with eating vegetables. You can try contacting your doctor for more information, but I certainly don't know how a vegetarian and vegetables don't mix.

They have fake meat that tastes real. They took Boca burgers to Texas and lots tried them and liked them. Then they were stunned to find out not real meat. I go to restaurant and get fake duck all the time. Also bacon, hot dogs etc. Also tastes change depending on what you eat over time.

Also check out Indian and Chinese dishes. They make them taste good. In America you go to diner and get meat and vegetables come in puddle of water. That totally sucks. Mashed potatoes are good. But Indians make all these sauces that make the dish not what is in them. Also anyone who fasts 5 days can re-set taste buds to like fruit and vegetables more. This has some ideas plus page that has 11 MDs saying how good fasting is.

I bet if you started cooking the vegetables the way you like, you'd start to like them. I don't understand personally as I really love steak and chicken --- but vegetables can be good too. Get some veg. cookbooks --- you'll find different sauces and spices and other items you can eat on a vegetarian diet. I'm sorry you're going to miss out on the good stuff though. LOL

Eat fruit. I'm a vegetarian, i do eat vegetables, but i also know that there are a lot of things that don't have meat, and a lot of things that can be made without meat. It's really not hard to find, just look.

Well, I am a vegetarian, but I am allergic to vegetables and most fruits! I manage, but I allow myself to eat cheese, milk, and egg products. I eat a lot of nuts for protein, and I eat a lot of bread, cereal, cheese pizza, its not hard at all. I still go to McDonalds and other places to eat out, but I order my hamburger without meat, and eat only the bun, cheese, pickle, and other condiments. Same with tacos. Good Luck.

Have you tried to seasoned your veggies, maybe adding a little bit of Italian dressing can help you.. Mix them with nuts or eat them with crackers, tuna fish try to be a little more creative at the moment you'll start your diet..

well you don't specifically have to eat veggies. You can eat soy, I hope you like fruits. Veggie stir fry is awesome though. But yeah you have tofu, vegiie dog and burger, I think also vegiie chicken patties and muc more. So you don't have to exactly eat veggies!:D

Maybe you should use the stick and carrot method to make yourself eat veggies! As an incentive. It beats everything else.
