We will be persecuted for our beliefs just like Jesus and the disciples were. If you read the new testament all of the 12 prophets died for their beliefs and were persecuted for their christianity. We will never be left alone or be at peace with other people for our beliefs. At some point and time we will probably have to die for our beliefs also. The most you can do for the peopel that are being mean about your beliefs is to pray for them. Forgive them and ask God to help them out of their stubborn pride. Remember on Jugdement day everyone will have to answer for what they have done or said on this earth. Keep them in prayer and keep the faith that you are right for what you believe and you will be rewarded for it someday with a crown.

They were pretty mean to Jesus too, don't forget - so you are in good company! They thought He was a disgrace to the jewish religion, whereas He knew God better than any of them. But He loved them anyway....and that's what He expects us to do, even though it's hard. Yes, many people who call themselves "christian" haven't the faintest idea what it involves, and it does make "christians" look bad. But calling yourself "christian" and being a follower of Jesus Christ are two very different things, aren't they! Just make sure you get to know Him, and what He wants YOU to do, and leave the so-called "christians" wondering what the difference is. He has promised to honor those who honor Him. Don' t forget that we can't live up to God's standards on our own - and He doesn't expect us to - that's why He gives us the Holy Spirit to help us fight the battles we need to, in order to live like we ought to. Get to know Him thru spending time with Him in His "road map" (the Bible), talking to Him (prayer), and learning from others who love Him - and who don't pretend to be what they're not.

They are intimidated by what they don't understand, and rightly so.

God truly is The Almighty and if someone is not a christian their sinful nature (which we all have) will pull them in the wrong direction - anger, hatred, aggression, indignance and stubborness. Pray for those people because nothing is too big for God.

My advice is to surround yourself with other christians so that when you do run into those that tear you down you will have a support group to help lift you up again.

God never said it would be easy to follow Him, in fact, He said the opposite. (read James, chapter 1)

Keep spreading the word to those that are seeking, and may your life be a witness to those who don't know.

God bless.

Often others put down christians because it's the only way they can feel good about themseleves. It makes them feel like they have some type of power/hold on you, when really it's just make them look stupid.Keep the faith Hun.God see's and hears all.

For the same reasons they are mean to everyone else. Please do not think that Christians are the only ones who get the insults because they aren't.

People insult others because they don't understand the other person's beliefs or even try to understand. They don't know how to practice the tolerance they rant and rave about. There are times when harsh words are necessary but there are more times where harsh words shouldn't even be thought of.

Wise thought for the day: No harm can come from silence.

Yeah, some people call themselves Christians, but they are the farthest thing from it.

I thought you meant NON-Christians were giving you a hard time...that was what I thought, based upon your initial question. If that were the case, then you should know the answer to that, my darling- it's in the Bible. We Christians are going to be persecuted for the Lord's namesake. It's a good thing, actually, because we will be rewarded for our suffering in the end.

There will always be a problem with people who represent a group badly. It's like extremist Muslims, they give Islam a bad name. In your case it would be the Christians that are condescending and tell everyone they are going to hell.

I'm neither religion, but I can see where you are coming from. I'd say just be as nice to them as you can and hope to eliminate the steriotype.

I understand how you feel have had that done to me too just hang in there and read your Bible and Pray for them i know its hard to pray for people who are being mean to you or mocking you or telling you that every thing you belive is wrong and yes it is very sad when people (even Christians) want to fight with you over how you belive ..
just tell them I believe in God its my Life i can Be a believer if i want just like you can be a Unbelieve if you want to be.
if there Christian tell them we both Love Jesus Christ He is whats important as long as we have Him in our Hearts we are Family in him and family should not fight over things we should be love each other and not fighting

It only takes a quick look at your "question" and the Christians' responses to it to see why people dislike you. It's for your bad behavior, folks, not because you're persecuted for your beliefs. Live with it.

people are always going to put others down who are different than them, maybe out of fear, poor self esteem, etc. satan uses people to hurt christins because he hates GODS chidren!!! look beyond the person and look at them as JESUS does!! HE loves them and died for them!! the BIBLE says to love and pray for your enemies. im not saying it doesnt hurt but take your hurt to HIM and ask HIM to give you the words you need to tell them JESUS loves them. try to stay around those who will lift you up and support you. also christians are human to and make mistakes to, yes christians can be mean to, but do not judge others and pray for them. we should all be careful how we treat others, but so often fall short of the glory of GOD. thank GOD HE forgives us and will help us if we ask.
