Pneumonia is caused by bacteria and viruses. It isn't because of cold weather. I had bacterial pneumonia earlier this year. You feel miserable and totally exhausted. You have a high fever and cough up lots of mucus. Mild cases of bacterial pneumonia can be cured easily with an antibiotic. Some severe cases require a hospital visit. If you want to avoid pneumonia or any other disease always see your doctor when you feel unwell.

Pneumonia- Inflammation of the lung with production of alveolar exudate. Traditionally, two main types were recognized, on an anatomical or radiological basis, viz., lobar pneumonia and broncho-pneumonia. The tendency these days is to classify according to the specific bacterium or virus causing infection (specific pneumonias) on the one hand, and the aspiration or secondary pneumonias (nonspecific) on the other. Hypostatic pneumonia is the result of stasis and occurs in the case of debilitated patients from lack of movement in the dependent part of the lung. Unresolved pneumonia., wherein the alveolar exudate does not liquefy but consolidation persists.
Please see the webpages for more details on Pneumonia.

Viruses, bacteria, or (in rare cases) parasites or other organisms cause pneumonia.
In most cases, the specific organism (such as bacteria or virus) cannot be identified even with testing.1 When an organism is identified, it is usually the bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae.2
Other bacteria that may cause pneumonia include Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Legionella pneumophila (the bacteria that cause Legionnaires' disease), Staphylococcus aureus, Moraxella catarrhalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Neisseria meningitidis, or Klebsiella pneumoniae. Pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae is sometimes mild and called walking pneumonia.
Viruses, such as influenza A (the flu virus) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can cause pneumonia.

Strange question but hey......if you want to get it, next time you get a cold take to your bed and don't move for weeks on end - the cold should then spread to your chest and then before long if you continue to do nothing it may develop onto pneumonia.
But if you are less than 70 years old and mobile its pretty difficult to get.
If you want to avoid pneumonia, just do the opposite - keep mobile and get antibiotics if a cold spreads to your chest
