because children do not have the ability to think abstractly or to any high logical degree. if we thought like this we would blindly accept everything we are told... put the pieces together.

First I'd like to know how you know all about what cult leaders do? What the meaning is, is that we come to him as children come to their father. It doesn't imply we are to be illogical or stupid or any other insult. You really have to ask Jesus into your heart to know how loving that statement is. For people who don't believe it is meaningless and that's okay. We are where we are supposed to be in our life. There was a time I would have totally agreed with all the insulting comments. It truely is like that song "Amazing Grace." "I was blind, but now I see.". Cult leaders on the other hand- if people start thinking "for you" stay away. There are atheists cults too. They take away all your hope and faith and then tell you "what's the point?" Can you "see" love? can you prove we have emotions? We have hormones that produce chemicals in our body that effect our moods. I wonder why? Why do we need moods or emotions? It seems that all that are okay to have is "thoughts". Can you prove you have thoughts ? Why do we have thoughts? Why are we creative? Why are there so many animals and insects and different races? Why so many stars? Am I childlike in wonder to ask these questions or just naive and stupid? So much to think of and wonder about and so many amazing colors and sounds and shapes. How could there not be a creator? There is order in the universe and it turns in time with itself whether anyone believes or not. Peace.

Pride is man's biggest problem and it keeps more people out of heaven than any other sin because it keeps them from believing that the blood Jesus Christ shed for them at Calvary is the only thing that can forgive, remove and cleanse then from all their sin. You must be humble as a little child to believe and follow Jesus Christ.
For cult leaders, it is a way to keep you in subjection to them as cult leaders. It is hard to deal with proud people because they have a mind and will of their own and do not want to be led. Most proud people are born leaders not followers.

Jesus said it because of faith, having faith as that of a child. We have to accept God through faith. Cult leaders like someone who is easily lead and manipulated like a child. The difference is in the intent.

This means teachable. Meek- one who seeks knowledge and finds it.

I suppose a cult would teach this so that the person could learn the ways of a cult-- if one chooses to be in a cult.

Do you have children?

Children can be annoying and petulent, but they can also have an astounding purity and insight which hasn't been fettered by the fear and ignorance of their elders. I have the feeling that's what Jesus was talking about. If indeed the words were his and not those of a redactor; I haven't studied that particular logion closely enough to be able to say.

Good question!

Think!!!!!!!

Jews for Jesus = Vegetarians for Hamburgers

God? He or She?

Church? Christianity? Jesus? Dying?

What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?

Does Imacculate Conception = "VIRGIN BIRTH"?

Google Imacculate Conception and learn something.

What else do you falsely believe, Immaculate Deception?

Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Can Gods die?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?

No Eternal sacrifice, big deal for a day!

If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.

If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

Life after death is like virginity after childbirth.

If the flesh of Jesus died, what was seen walking and talking on Sunday?

If you believe this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to believe it too to validate you.

Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.

Believing and not thinking is like choosing a mental illness and becoming truly lost.

Trust is almost if not entirely synomous with faith. In effect, Godknows more than man and needs to trust/have faith in God. Yes, other cults can use this property against the person; which is why apparaently we need to discern between God's calling and others calling.

Little children do not have a dispute Spirit. They repent more easily and wait for God with patience in things that they do not understand and not run away and sins against God. An evil and dispute spirit can't serve God, nor understand His ways for he is a sinner.

Christ taught child-like faith. If you consider God to be your heavenly Father, then what He says is good enough. You don't have to confirm your faith by seeking out other sources. I take God at His word. If a preacher teaches child-like faith, it should be based on context given in the Bible. To teach child-like faith in a man is idolatry. Faith in God, and only God, with the Word of God as the standard, and every other truth subject to it.

We are told to be wise and careful in life too so since both must be true the answer would be to be as innocent as a child before God..
