Traditionally there are ten Maha avatars (great avatars) of Vishnu (collectively called "Dasavatara") The first four appeared in the Satya Yuga ("The Era of Truth"), the next three appeared during the Treta Uyga, the eigth in the Dwapara Yuga and the ninth in the Kali Yuga.

The Ninth incarnation was Buddha.

The tenth incarnation is Kalki, who is still to come at the end of the Kali Yuga/Kaliyun, (according to some tradtions, this is the period in which we currently exist). Vishnu will appear in person on Earth, seated on a white horse.
