No but they are very addicted to the reward at the end - usually a ball or a special toy. They have very high drive. They will do what ever it takes to get that ball or toy. If that means find drugs then believe me, they will find them. It is all about the reward at the end!!

they are no more adicted then the dogs that are trained to sniff out cancer have the disease. Dogs have a stronger smell sense then humans. The can detect an array of smells. They never have any chance of inhaling the drugs as they are in containers or plastic bags. They still can detect the smell through these.
If you are asking because you are running drugs give up those dogs are so much smarter then you are. Stupid questions come from dumb humans can you relate to that.

Nope. Smelling something does not cause you to be addicted to it. They are just trained to act a certain way when they find drugs. Just like my dog sniffs at other dogs behinds, does not mean he is addicted to them.

The dogs don't sample the drug, only the scent. Ever known anyone to get addicted to incense or dinner rolls because they smell them all the time?

No. They only get very small amounts while sniffing, and their body chemistry is a bit different. They don't get suffiecient doses to become addicted anyway.

no, dogs can't be addicted to things, they tested it when they first trained drug sniffing dogs.

they are knowledgeable to react to specific smells. they are then given advantageous re-inforcement. They dont inhale any of the medicine. The heady scent it and then take a seat/scratch in spite of they have been knowledgeable to do.

No, they don't get the dogs high...so they won't get addicted. The dogs can pick up the smell of cocaine residue or smell it throught clothes or a baggie - they don't actually blow lines. Duh.
