since it's small, it wouldn't take too long to paint it. Pick out a new color, rearrange the furniture, and CLEAN & ORGANIZE!!! The more organized you are, the more happier you'll be with your room. Add something inexpensive, yet stylish. Add your own creative, personal touch. Just make sure you're happy and comfortable.

First, sort everything. At 13, you've probably got a lot of childish stuff that you'll never need or want again. Have a yard sale (money for new stuff) or donate your unwanted stuff to a local charity (good karma). Then reduce the amount of furniture in the room. This unit from IKEA would have been great when I was your age: http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15561&catalogId=10103&storeId=12&productId=11499&langId=-1&categoryId=17066&chosenPartNumber=40047675 If you can't get something like that, use wall shelves. Put all the clutter in baskets or storage boxes, painted all the same color.

Clean it out and get rid of things that you don't need anymore so you'll have more space. Push your bed against a wall and use some under the bed storage boxes for things. Paint the walls a new color to give your room a low-cost change and also change your window coverings.

I have the exact same problem cept I'm an 18 yr old guy. I'll do yours if you do mine... might make it easier. You are, however, phased with the exact same problem. I'm thinking of doing something with the colours orange and yellow. Not too bright but not dark either. I want groovy styles like 60s sort of styles. At the moment, it's not looking groovy at all!

Go high and put in decorative moldings in very white. Then go down about a foot and put shelves you can place pictures on. Put extras in shoe boxes painted white on the shelves also. If the ceilings are high enough you can go down another foot and put in a chair rail and place more pictures leaning against the wall on it.

possibly a diminished purple color. the place it extremely isn't any longer to lady and and you alter it as you grow previous. possibly use some eco-friendly accents in the room and consistent with hazard some brown. once you become bored of which you should do purple and brown as a color scheme. those are in basic terms some ideas.

depends on what you like-
a) cozy- paint the walls a warm color (orange, red, yellow..) and maybe do a flower theme
b) relaxing- (blue, green, purple) you could do a water thing or a nature thing
c) combine a and b (blue and orange, red and green, yellow and purple or any combo you like)
IF YOU LIKE THE BLUE COLOR, WORK WITH IT

Try putting in a mirror. They tend to give an illusion of space. :) Or you could try putting up a new coat of paint or different posters.
