About a week and a half ago, I got my foot slammed in a car door. A few minutes after it happened, I got a huge goose egg on the top of my foot, where it got smashed the hardest, and my foot got very swollen. After that, the goose egg started to go down, and the more it went down, the more my foot bruised. Up until now, it hasn't been too painful. Just a tad bit sore to walk on. Now...it's still somewhat bruised, and just a little bit swollen, but it's extremely sore...so sore that water falling onto it, while I'm in the shower, sends sharp pains thorough it. Hurts when I'm not even on it, too. When I feel the spot that got slammed the hardest, it feels weird. Kind of like there's a kinda of firm somethin poppin out of my foot under my skin. Could it be broken/fractured? Or is this just normal stuff?

definitely a tear of the ligaments.

almost sure ther is a fracture. you should get xray and cast.

i had the exct same condition about 15 years ago while at a picnic,my friends carried me to the hospital.after xray the doctor assured there was no fracture, but he put a cast anyway.
i was young and stupid so i took off the cast myself after 2 days ,also because the doctor was sure the x ray didnt show a fracture.

no after 15 years it still hurts when i am cold or when i stand on it for a long time.

my impression now looking back is there must have been a crack (superficial fixed fracture) and i walked on it too early so it didnt heal right.

so for short although you took a long time (i month) i think you should check with an orthopedician , and avoid weight bearing on that foot for a month or so to give it time to heal whether its a crack or just a ligament tear.

I broke my foot in two places when I was a teenager and was walking around with it thinking it was just a bad sprain, no idea it was fractured. Went to the doctor's 3 weeks later and they showed me the x-ray and sure enough my foot was indeed, very broken. Go get an x-ray.

Hard to tell. Best to have it X-rayed just to be sure, in this case. A bruised foot can be at least as painfull as a broken one, and it can easily bother you for six weeks.

this happened to my boss , she dropped a huge
can of food on her foot. when she went to the hospital
they did an x-ray & yes it was fractured. she was
in a soft cast for about 5 months. go get your foot
checked by a Dr. & hope you get well soon.

it could be borken or cracked, (fractured it broken all the way through the bone) I would stay off of it and keep it above your head for a while to keep the swelling down
