I know a couple of illegals and they love this country a lot more than their old country. The only flag they wave around is the American flag. They don't want to go back where they came from either, they know their old country stinks and they're better off hear. I don't know why everyone has to think all illegals hate America.

Well, I think I've seen this before. I think it's because they had a really rough life in the other countries that being is America is truely a blessing. In the United States you obtain a job and no matter how little income you make you can live decently . In other latin American Countries you can't. You could work the whole damn day and not have enough to feed your family. So, think about wouldn't you feel proud? I think you would even recent your own country for letting you down.

Sadly, there should be no double standards. No loopholes.

Illegal is illegal. If we make exceptions for some but not others, we're creating a legal nightmare.

I'd love to see more of the immigrants showing patriotism to the US, but I have to stand by the law first.

That is a civil matter in family court. The parents/illegals must still go no matter what. If your priority is keeping the family together, then they all go to Mexico. If your priority is keeping the children in the USA, then make those arrangements - at least they can visit you in Mexico.

Under no circumstances does everyone of various status stay here, that is completely wrong.

They didn't have a choice. They should be allowed to become citizens if they want. But their parents should not be allowed to use their kids as an excuse to stay. They will have to pay a fine and go to the back of the line, and if that means taking their minor kids back with them, well then that's just tough.

Senior Citizen, that was how my grandfather got his citizenship. He was brought over here as a small child by his parents and when he was a young man enlisted in the army. When he got out he earned his citizenship.
This program still exists. Many immigrants are fighting over in Iraq because it's a fast track to citizenship.
If they live.

Many so called illegal aliens are more patriotic than natural born Americans. Too bad we can't deport Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice.

I agree.....

Most of that generation will become Americanized and learn to assimilate. I was born here, but my parents came from Mexico legally. I had to learn English and adopt the culture to be a part of it....so I agree.

Another thing, they should not teach bilingual education, this keeps those kids from really learning English and becoming part of the American culture....

this is a tough dilema. i would like everyone that gets here to be able to stay, but i have to be honest of how much of a tax burden it gets to be when our school districts budget is stretched so thin trying to provide a bilingual education or how our classrooms are getting so overcrowded. i am also very annoyed by the fact that getting a job lately hinges on the fact that i must be bilingual. i am very sympathetic to their plight but we have to weigh all the pros and cons.

How do you feel about someone who shoves his or her way into line? I'll believe how patriotic an illegal alien is when he joins one of our armed forces.
