Money! Fun!Ignorance! With pet overpopulation still rising, these people are irresponsible. They do not take responsibility for the dogs life, only interested in money! Some of the dogs they breed end up in shelters. More and more will end up dying as a result. There are far too many pets that end up in shelters without good homes. If a breed of dog has large litters, what will they do if they are unable to sell the puppies? Do they really think they are not adding to the massive problem of pet overpopulation?Yes, of course they do,do they care? No. Once they have the money in their pocket,do they care what happens to the pup, what type of home it goes to,can the person afford to care for the pup??? None of these questions are thought of,its not their responsibility! Just a few reasons as to why I NEVER respond to questions about BREEDING!!

I agree with your sentiment-I truly do. But adoption is not for every one. Rescue pets are not for every one. For some people, there is nothing but a shelter dog or rescue dog.

And I know you are not knocking responsible breeders. I have bred in the past and will breed again. The money I make from the first puppy I sell from each litter, I donate to the local Humane Society. It's a practice I learned from the breeder I bought my first golden retriever from. Imagine if every breeder did that, the money that could be raised for the care, feeding, and treatment of unwanted animals, the money that could be spent educating the public.

Rather than sit back and whinge about a problem, take steps to help solve it.

Well I don't really care if people want to breed their dogs. Is it any of our business? No. I have a Sheltie Mix and she is the cutest thing in the world. I don't care if somebody else wants a purbred dalmation or something. Sure it would be nice if more people were responsible for there dogs but I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon. If you're to get all angry at someone, get angry at the people who abandon their dogs. Not the people who breed them. Oh yea, and zenhippiechick? THIS YAHOO ANSWERS. IT'S WHERE PEOPLE ASK QUESTIONS. First of all, ignorant stupid people is an oxymoron. Secondly, if someone has a rare dog and someone else wants to breed them to ppl who want them and will pay good money to have them then what is the problem? I agree if you just want a dog you should adopt one or go to petfinder.com. That's what my sister and mother did but I have two dogs and one if a blue great dane and I have studded him out once and I see nothing wrong with it. I didn't even go out looking to stud him out the mail lady saw him in our yard and knew ppl who wanted to breed their dane with a blue. Stop being so assumptious about people. I don't think it's a good idea to just breed to whoever, whenever and all the time but if there's a demand for the dog there shouldn't be a problem. That's how the world works.. supply and demand.

The first thing that i will tell you is that everyone is entilted to an opinion. My mom and my step dad breed dogs and they both have jobs so i do not know what you are talking about on that aspect. But i will agree with you that there are some people that do it just for the money and nothing else. We do it to provide people with loving caring animals that they will have for a long time. The people who breed them just for the money need to not have animals. I will tell you that we love our dogs and that all dogs came from something being bred.

The reason that the shelters are so full of animals is because of irresponsible breeders and owners. Breeders of purebred dogs, are extremely careful of their bloodlines, and are twice as careful of where their animals are placed. With a purebred dog, you are assured, to a great extent, of temperament, and physical cleanliness in their pedigree. It's the ignorance of the owners that thinks it'll "be cool" to see what happens if you breed a Basset hound with a Chihuahua, or tow dogs, just to sell puppies, without any regards to heredity. Why did your parents have you? Couldn't they adopt a handicapped child instead of bringing another illiterate mouth to feed into the world? Ha! Come on yourself. And.........I suppose that you're going to have children of your won. ( but by accident -right?)

I give up, what is "ignorant stupid"? They are not the same, and one is not a modifier of the other.

I do agree with you about inbreeding. My neighbor has a German Shepard with all the papers. The animal is so inbred he may be his own father. And, he is absolutely beyond belief the dumbest animal, outside of humans, that I have ever been around.

I have a mutt, she is getting old but is loyal, will protect me, and only barks when there is something to bark about. She may not be with me much longer and I will miss her.

In honor of this silly activist I will breed my dog one more time.

She is a Chocolate Cocker Spaniel, maybe I'll breed her to a Chiuaua this time and get tiny yappy burrito spaniels
