Your Veterinarian can give you something to stop it, "you could use a home remedy however" it's always best to seek the advise of a Veterinarian FIRST AND FOREMOST.
There could be a serious issue, that could cause death, such as giardia, or parvo, or something else. If not given the proper attention.

If your dog is a puppy, you need to contact your veterinarian. Puppies dehydrate quickly, and diarrhea can be a sign of everything from intestinal parasites to infections caused by bacteria. The same is true of any dog. The veternarian can provide you with a product which will usually control diarrhea within 24 hours if it is just a gastric upset. Often they will offer a dose of Pepto Bismol. These doses have to be given by the veterinarian as they are calculated by mg per kg. Overdose in an animal is as severe as overdose in an animal.

First, call and let your vet know that there's a problem. Second, change it's diet to plain boiled white rice and boiled ground beef for at least 2-3 days. If you don't see an imporvement in 3 days, then a vet visit is in order to have it checked for intestinal parasites and/or any illness.

Immodium. Call vet for the dosage, or get the kids Immodium and follow the weight guide.
Also, fast the dog for 24 hours to allow the intestine to rest. Then begin small, bland meals.
If the diarrhea returns, see a vet.

My dog had the same problem and she ended up having whip worms. I give her a regular preventitve medicine, but it didn't protect agains this one particular parasite. She was so severly dehydrated that the vet said she was hours from death!!!
Please call your vet...at least for peace of mind if nothing else.

starve him for 24 hours, or only feed him chicken and rice. This happened to me ad that's what the vet said. He gave him an antibiotic injection aswell. Did't help much but the chicken and rice did. Look at what food you are giveing him it may be too rich. Other wise stick to the chicken and rice girl. Good luck

If it were mine I'd take him to the vet to find out why he has diarrhea. Better to treat the cause than the symptom.
