NO!!! That would lead to diarrhea. Just feed a good diet, or sometimes feed a hairball formula. They make products to treat the hairballs also. Laxatone is the most common one. Comes in a tube. Give a little weekly.

I buy the hair ball medicine and I also give him Iaams cat food for hairballs. It works. I never heard of soaking the toys in baby oil.

Baby oil? Sounds really bad for cats! Plus, I'm sure the cat would fight you because it's not going to take a whiff of the oil and say "Yummy....smells like food." Just go to the store and buy hairball remedy. You can usually find one that the cats like enough the eat it themselves, although with one of mine you have to put it on your finger and literally get it on the roof of her mouth so she's forced to swallow it.

No, it's not ok. They have hairball formula food and hairball medicine in your pet section. Baby oil will probably kill the poor thing.

I would think it would be better to use some kind of cooking oil instead, I don't think baby oil is supposed to be eaten. But I don't know if oil will help hairballs.

Only if you want your cat to have a terrible case of the runny squits! Give your cat a teaspoon of butter to lick. It helps pass the hairballs without the pain and mess and smell.

No, don't do that. Let your kitty lick off the inside of the paper from a stick of butter/margerine every once in a while. Even once every other week or so should be enough to help w/ hairballs. Also brush him/her every day, that'll help, too.

Why dont you just feed them better food? They make certain dry food for that. My two cats have NEVER has a hairball and I feed them organic Wellness Brand. They like it and its very healthy. About 11-13$ a bag.

Uh....NO!!!!! I agree with the other person, it would definitely lead to diarrhea, and a kittie with a sore butt. Just get that hairball formula cat food, seems to always work for mine! ;o)
