It takes about 5 years of living in Mexico to become a Mexican citizen, and costs money. You also have to make multiple visits to Mexican Immigration with legitimate proof as to why you´re in Mexico and how long you intend to be there. It´s not easy. Why would you want to do this anyway?

Just remember this: Mexico gave citizenship to only 15,000 aliens in the past 5 years. They have a million illegals in Mexico from Central America. They have a more humane way of dealing with them. The cops just beat them up, take their money and then let them go.

The only way you could have "got rid of my US citizenship" would have been to have renounced it at a US embassy or consulate, and received a certificate of renunciation from the State Department. If you just pretended you weren't a US citizen any longer, that doesn't mean anything.

Are you serious??? :D
I don't even think you lose your US citizenship when you become a citizen of another country. you just have both citizenship. Dualcitizenship. It's cool you have that kind thing. going back and forth would be a piece of cake. you the US passport to come to the US and an Mexican passwort to go back to Mexico. Cool!!!

Sounds a roundabout way of doing things if you're already a citizen and already here ... :) But I'm sure you could ... why not?
