Why doesn't some one write a new religion?

Many people have abandoned the bible for its sins enclosed within. So if we want a better society why doesn't someone write a new 'bible' that is up to date and doesn't have things about stoning people and slavery in it. It could take all the good bits of christianity and throw in a bit of modern wisdom. Churches could be great places again too, i feel they are largely abandoned in the UK.

even if there was a new and perfect religion, judging by some of the answers you got, not everyone would 'get it' so it would make no difference. here could be its first verse:
Some people are just foolish and allways will be, let the smart and the knowing tell them the truth and have pity for there ignorance

Those who have abandoned the bible because of the truths (what you call sins) within are not willing to accept Jesus as a personal saviour and are rejecting God. If one is looking for a religion that allows much of what scripture has specifically spoken against, one need look no further than many "Christian" denominations. Episcopalians ordain gays; Presybyterian USA ordains women; Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) pays for employee abortions, and I could go on & on. There are many scripture believing Episcopalians, Presbyterians and Lutherans - research the church & it's doctrine! Why write a new bible? Just join one of the churches that has already taken the "yucky" stuff out that they don't like; or like in UK many have just abandoned the church altogether as you said. It's sad... Some people too lazy and stupid to be bothered making a new Religion these days.

Of course there are those 'cults' that have religion-like followings, but these are lead by people that know how to brainwash and control and usually the followers become dangerously obsessed with the cult.

Some people believe that Religions cannot be simply made - otherwise it wouldn't be a true Religion. You cannot make a true God (if there ever is such a thing). You can make statues or idols to worship but never an otherworldly dominance.

The Bible is written by real people recalling events as they remember them and more importantly as inspired by God. The New Testament tells us that we only have to obey two laws which encompass all others, 'To love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul' and 'to love your neighbour as yourself'. A new religion, that has no basis is useless and would not solve any issues as it would be written by sinful humankind. There is no evidence to suggest that any such religion would be helpful. Unfortunately there are too many religions already - that is why the world is in such a mess. If the only one was Christianity, then what a wonderful safe and happy world this would be. God gave 'man' free-will - we have abused that gift and are reaping the rewards.

As the old religions weaken, pathways open up for new and better paradigms to emerge.

The new religion you allude to is in the works, has been for years.

It was predicted by Nostradamus to be a blend of science and mysticism.

Eventually, once miracles occur that outshine all those of the traditional prophets like Issa/Jesus, Moses, and also more recently, Sai Baba, then you will know the new religion has officially emerged.

But not until then.

Because its all based on lies and a STORY for chrissakes...like cinderella. They cant write a new one without being ridiculed for it until us as a society are dead...all of us..and new life begins ..then when someone finds that book...It will be the new bible. Otherwise..It will never happen. Everyones been too brainwashed in that area to accept anything other.

I think enough garbage has been created with all the old ones.

Lets not start any new ones. Only GOD can.

It is not up to us.

What we have to do is clean up the mess made by some of these religions who think they have the right to impose on my life and my home just like yours.

Are you suggesting we become GOD or write another bible like the men who wrote it in the name of christ.

I think let us get back to cleaning up the mess made by others and live in our own homes and our own ways of religion.

Let us not carry on with the human rights violations and the atrocities in the name of religion.

Thomas Jefferson believed that the Hebrews, Ancient Greeks, and Jesus represented the evolution of human ethics. We don' tneed to use mythology anymore to advance ethics.

Who needs another religion? They clearly do far more farm than good and should be disposed of.

If they're largely abanonded in the U.K. that must explain the lack of idiocy about evolution, stem cells, and Israel.

Any body who find the Bible unworthy, is certainly insulting billions of people. Are you aware of what you are saying. Not only insulting Christians who would die for the Bible, but insulting God himself. How dare you say such thing? You despise God and condemn his word and then you suggest to write new religion about God. Do you find yourself lovely to say that and perhaps have people who would stand with you. What kind of attitude is this? You Insult the one who died for your sake to save you from the agony of hell and in return renounce His love and throw away his holy word.!!!!!!!

There are groups like this already, you just need to find them. I think religion is becoming less adhered to in the UK because people are more educated and have wised up that it's a waste of their day off work, and nothing will happen if they just don't bother.
