I never tasted the drugs when puking. There was a bit of a taste that I had to mask while actually receiving the treatment (in particular, with adriamycin and Taxotere), so I just brought something, a candy, or a sandwich, or something.

There are so many anti-nausea drugs now that are given for chemotherapy that there is no reason to throw up. If you are feeling ill, your oncologist needs to know and he will give you a med for it. Certain chemo's will give you an after taste in your mouth that tastes like metal. Sometimes sores even appear, but again, they can be controlled with meds if you tell your oncologist.

Chemo caused me to have bizarre smells and tastes. Talk to your oncologist. Perhaps they can try a different anti-nausea medication. Hope you get some relief. Hang in there. You can get through this. Good luck!

It is quite possible you might have an aftertaste of some drugs in your mouth, because the circulation carries the drugs nearby.

sure, my husband grew to become into considered terminal & given 6 months yet with aggressive chemo he beat it. for the time of Chemo he suggested he tasted the chemical ingredients regardless if he grew to become into puking or not & he smelled of chemical ingredients for all time.
