Marking his territory, maybe he feels threatened.

"Excitement peeing" is pretty common is some dog breeds. The first thing you can do is reduce the excitement levels when greeting this dog....don't bend over to pet him, and speak in a normal tone of voice...not the high pitched "happy to see you" voice that most folks use when they first come home and greet their pets. Also avoid direct eye contact because "peeing" can also be caused as a result of submissive behavior on the part of the dog as he responds to someone he perceives as "alpaha" or more dominant. In other words keep it low key and wait to greet your pet until things have calmed down a bit when you come home. Let him get excited...don't scold...but just don't respond to him until he's behaving calmly. Then sit down and pet him as if it's no big deal. If you don't see any improvement within a week, you might also have him checked for a bladder or urinary infection. Either way...scolding will make it worse so be patient and try your best to difuse the excitement. Good luck and remember, you're the center of his universe...no one else will ever love you so unconditionally.

the dog is a submissive wetter. when you or any one else enters the room or your home don't pet the dog or even look it him or say anything to him only after you have been home for several minutes then give him a treat but still don't pet or talk to him. go about your daily routine like he's not there when you settle down to watch TV or read or what ever you do wait until he comes to you lays at your feet or sitting next to you , then reach over and pet him and talk to him in a normal voice not baby talk. see if this helps stop his pee triggers. if he is not neutered i would neuter him. this will stop the marking and also keep him for getting prostrate cancer. just remember don't pet the dog!

Your dog isn't marking his territory....

You can google "excitement urination" for more complete information, but here's a pretty good description and prescription I got from http://www.larimerhumane.org/services/dogssubmissive.cfm

Excitement urination occurs most often during greetings and playtime and is not accompanied by submissive posturing. Excitement urination usually resolves on its own as a dog matures. In some cases, however, the problem can persist if the dog is frequently punished or if the dog’s behavior is inadvertently reinforced—such as by petting or talking to your dog in a soothing or coddling tone after he urinates when excited.

What to Do If Your Dog Has an Excitement Urination Problem:

* Take your dog to the veterinarian to rule out medical reasons for the behavior.
* To avoid accidents, play outdoors until the problem is resolved.
* Don’t punish or scold him.
* Keep greetings low-key.
* When he’s excited, ignore him until he’s calm.

Because he's happy and excited and can't always control his urge to pee. Some dogs are just like that. It's truly not madness, he just can't help it. Whatever you do, don't chastise him for it, it'll make him worse. Then he'll not only be happy and excited but he will become a nervous wreck.
I'm rather surprised that it's a male - usually females do this. I have never had a female dog who didn't.

he is probably a submissive wetter. I had a dog that did that everytime she saw someone or we pet her she peed a little. he will probably be like this forever but you might do a google search on submissive wetting to see what you can do.

it could be something that is trained by now since he is two. BUt my trainer says its a sign of submission and/or they are nervious. You have to build up his confidence. Try playing with a knotted rope or sock (tug o war style) and then let your dog win. When your dog wins give him lots of praise.
