I was at a dinner the other night and the ONLY beer available was Coors Light. How the hell has this beer become so popular? I LOVE a good beer -- be it a handcrafted microbrew or a macro lager beer. And I NEVER turn down free beer. I WILL turn down Coors Light, though, because it's NOT beer. It's beer-flavored tap water that tastes like the can even when it's in the bottle! This is the CRAPPIEST beer ever brewed. I'll drink BUD LIGHT before this swill.

Could it be the biggest reason this pee-water sells is because it uses those stupid commercials to attract the simple-minded jock wannabes out there?? I have even been known to make fun of some of the people who buy this crap while they're in the checkout line!

Damn, this beer sucks.

Now I will step off my soapbox and leave it to you good people to answer.

Light beer is a crime against nature and should only be given to children, as a punishment. Don't even get me started why I would drink my own pee before I drank any Coors product (Including Molson, which they now own). If it ain't black, it ain't beer.

Man I hear you, believe me! But I think that the reason why Coors Light is so popular because of the fact that it does not taste like a beer. It is a beer for people who do not care for beer so it makes it a popular drink because not only people who like beer will drink it, but also people who don't like the taste of beer will still probably drink it.

Before Prohibition, there were millions of tiny, family owned breweries producing dark, rich, nutty, German-style beer. Beer was consumed mainly in taverns. The shipping options and shelf life for beer were limited.
So, of course, it made sense for tavern owners and others to just pick up a keg from a very local brewer, of that dark, rich real beer that we love.
After Prohibition....
most of the small family breweries producing good, delicious beer were wiped off the map. People began consuming beer more often in their homes than in taverns, and also began preferrring lighter beers.
Meanwhile, industrial innovations made the cheap mass production of beer possible and standardized the heck out of the brewing process, producing the light-colored, watery, crappy beers that connosieurs hate. Industrial Beer's cheap prices also drove the small breweries out of business even further.
It is a fact that most of the big beer labels around today are light, watery, and pretty much taste the same. so advertising is the main force that drives sales. advertising and habit. in the years since Prohibition, John Q. Public has forgotten the taste of a real German beer and been raised on...crap.
Hence the proliferation of crappy beers.
Adieu, adieu, o beers of yore/ we look wistfully after the/ yet you depart and are no more....

It depends whether you're in Canada or the US.

In the States the Coors light sucks.

But in Canada it is just a very refreshing beer with no after taste whatsoever but still with enough alcohol to make a good night better.

Coors Light tastes very similar to Bud Light. It's a great beer to drink if you want to watch the calories. I personally like it and so do other people that I know. Oh well, to each his own.

Because it is refreshing...like lemonade...a little watered down, but with a subtle kick. IMHO, beer should not have to be chewed to get it down your throat. Also, you can drink more of it (and get more buzzed) before your stomach gets too full to drink any more.

Ironically, my two beers of choice are Coors Light and Samuel Adams...which even I find a little odd.

it could be that your body has a reaction to that kind try doing this have some one pour coors into a bud bottle and bud into a coors bottle and tell them to do it randomly and see if you puke it also might be that the coors went bad that you drank

I personally don't like dark beer and I drink Miller Lite. My husband likes dark beer and calls Miller Lite Pee Beer. Okay -- so it's all different. You can always bring your own with you ya know....I mean if it's a party or something, why not? I do when I know the beer being served isn't one I particularly like.

Coors Lite is pretty gross. If I'm gonna drink a light beer I'll go with Miller Lite or Michelob Ultra before I drink a Coor's.
